The BC Wildfire Service is responding to four small wildfires northwest of Creston following Thursday's lightning storm.
All four wildfires are significantly small at 0.01 or 0.04 hectares and are all being responded to by BC Wildfire Service's initial attack crews.
The BC Wildfire Service said all four wildfires are suspected to have been caused by lightning after a thunderstorm rolled through the region Thursday evening.
At this time, there is no immediate threat to any communities or structures.
The Southeast Fire Centre, which includes the entire Kootenay region is currently under a Category 3 Open Burning Ban, which prohibits any open fire larger than two metres high and three metres wide.
