Rockies on Seven-Game Winning Streak, Dynamiters Maintain Division Lead Entering KIJHL Action

All teams in the KIJHL's Eddie Mountain Division are back in action this weekend as the Columbia Valley Rockies continue their hot streak and seek their eighth straight win.

Facing off with the Creston Valley Thunder Cats on Wednesday, the Columbia Valley Rockies earned a 3-0 shutout win to extend their winning streak to seven games. Connor Davison led the Rockies with a hat-trick while netminder C.J. Wedenig would make 34 saves to earn the shutout. Now three points back of the division-leading Kimberley Dynamiters, the Rockies have just one game on tap this weekend, matching up with the Nelson Leafs on Saturday at the Nelson Community Complex at 7:00 pm.

Leading the Eddie Mountain Division, the Kimberley Dynamiters will have back-to-back games at the Kimberley Civic Centre. Recently having their 12-game winning streak snapped in Fernie last Saturday, the Dynamiters will look to get back to their winning ways against the Nelson Leafs at 7:00 pm on Friday and the Spokane Braves at 7:00 pm on Saturday.

The Fernie Ghostriders and Golden Rockets are both tied for third place in the Eddie Mountain Division with 27 points and will battle on Saturday in Golden, but both teams will be in action Friday before that matchup. Fernie is set to host the Spokane Braves at 7:30 pm at Fernie Memorial Arena while the Rockets will be in Creston to matchup with the Thunder Cats at 7:30 pm.

After Friday's contest with Golden, the Thunder Cats will close out their weekend action on the road in Fruitvale against the Beaver Valley Nitehawks.
