Pamela Walsh Hired as City of Kimberley's First Ever Manager of Community Development and Communications

Walsh will help to support local non-profits, apply for grant funding, oversee the Kimberley Youth Action Network, and ensure residents of Kimberley get accurate and timely information from the City.

Chief Administrative Officer Scott Sommerville says they are extremely pleased to announce the hiring of Pamela Walsh as the first person to fill this new position.

"Pamela and her family have been living part-time in Kimberley for the last five years, and she has a deep understanding of what makes Kimberley so special."

"Pamela's extensive experience will be instrumental in supporting Kimberley's non-profit sector and enhancing City communications to our residents," adds Sommerville.

In her early days in this role, she will work to conduct a Childcare Programming and Facilities Gap Analysis after the City of Kimberley received a $25,000 grant in March and supporting the Kimberley Youth Action Network.

Walsh's experience includes positions with the Children's Legal and Educational Resource Centre, Alberta Women's Entrepreneurs, and Junior Achievement of Northern Alberta.

She has a Bachelor's degree in political science from Memorial University, a Dale Carnegie training certificate, and a certificate in non-profit management.

Walsh starts her new position with the City of Kimberley on May 21st.
