One Person Killed in Collision on Cranbrook's King Street

Cranbrook RCMP attended a serious collision Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 3:30 pm Saturday, RCMP were called to an area on King Street.

Police believe the driver and passenger of the truck may have been coming from Elizabeth Lake.

Firefighers were also on scene as the vehicle was reportedly on fire with the male passenger trapped inside.

Crews managed to get him and the female driver out and take them to hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

The man passed away, while the woman was treated and later released from care.

Cranbrook RCMP are continuing to investigate and ask that anyone with information to contact the detachment at 250-489-3471 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

No further details are being released at this time.
