No Injuries After CP Train Derailment in Kingsgate

There are no reported injuries or safety concerns following a Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) train derailment in Kingsgate on Monday.

According to CP Rail, one of their trains derailed in Kingsgate Yard around 1:40 pm local time on Monday, July 8, 2019.

"The cars involved in the derailment were empty grain hopper cars," CP Rail told Summit 107 in an emailed statement. "There were no injuries and there are no public safety concerns."

CP Rail said they immediately dispatched teams to the site of the derailment.

It is unclear at this time what exactly caused the grain hopper cars to derail in Kingsgate Yard, as CP Rail is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the derailment.
