The Kootenay ICE have traded 2000-born forward Cyle McNabb to the Saskatoon Blades for 2000-born forward Brandon Machado and a 2021 fifth round draft pick.

McNabb was recently acquired in another trade on Friday where the ICE sent 1998-born defenceman Dallas Hines to the Vancouver Giants for the younger forward.

"While it was certainly not our intention to move Cyle when acquiring him, after conversations with him, this was determined to be in the best interest of the player," said Matt Cockell, President and General Manager of the Kootenay ICE.

Acquiring Machado from the Sasktoon Blades in the most recent deal, the Airdrie, Alberta native has thee points (two goals, one assist) in 35 WHL games this season. In 97 career games in the WHL, Machado has seven points (three goals, four assists).

"Brandon is a player that we have had discussion with Saskatoon about for quite some time," said Cockell. "We look forward to acquiring a player who is excited about his opportunity with our team."

The 2000-born forward was selected 101st overall by the Blades in the fifth round of the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft.
