The Kootenay ICE are back in action Wednesday as the team hopes to snap their nine-game losing slide at home against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
Following a tough weekend south of the border that saw the ICE lose all three road games to the Seattle Thunderbirds, Everett Silvertips, and Portland Winterhawks 7-3, 3-0, and 10-2, the ICE matchup with their Central Division rivals on Wednesday.
Battling the Lethbridge Hurricanes at Western Financial Place at 7:00 pm, the Hurricanes roll into the Key City having won five of their last six games, which includes their current three-game winning streak.
Recently completing a blockbuster trade with the Regina Pats, the Hurricanes are led by former Pats players Nick Henry (15G, 27A, 42P) and Jake Leschyshyn (17G, 17A, 34P) while second-year forward Dylan Cozens (14G, 22A, 36P) also leads Lethbridge and is a projected top-10 selection in the upcoming NHL Draft.
Another projected first-round prospect in the NHL Draft, Peyton Krebs leads the Kootenay ICE (11G, 21A, 32P) while Jaeger White (11G, 9A, 20P) and Brad Ginnell (5G, 14A, 19P) are the other team leaders following the departure of Brett Davis and Cam Hausinger to Red Deer last Friday.
The Kootenay ICE and Lethbridge Hurricanes drop the puck at 7:00 pm at Western Financial Place.
