The Kootenay ICE have recalled 2001-born goaltender Jesse Makaj to the active roster.

Making the announcement Friday, Makaj will join the ICE after playing in 11 games with the Greater Vancouver Canadians of the BC Major Midget Hockey League.

So far this season, Makaj is 5-6-0 with a 3.28 goals against average for the Canadians.

Makaj was selected in the second round, 23rd overall by the ICE in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.

Following the recall, the ICE are now carrying three goaltenders with new acquisition Matt Berlin, and Duncan McGovern already on the active roster.
