The accused was charged with aggravated assault after allegedly stabbing a man in a Fernie hotel.

Livan Chris Barnett was in Fernie Provincial Court Thursday for what was supposed to be a bail hearing, although his matter was simply pushed over to the Cranbrook courthouse for December 17.

He was arrested on Monday, October 22 after Elk Valley RCMP claimed that he stabbed a man at the Super 8 Motel. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result.

Barnett is also facing numerous other charges that span the last year, including theft of a vehicle, failing to appear in court, and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
