Elk Valley RCMP put a man behind bars after the incident.

Police in the Elk Valley were called to a home in Cranbrook to aid the local detachment in a call about a reported domestic dispute early Thursday morning.

Constable Debra Katerenchuk claims that the suspect fled the scene when they arrived and headed east on Highway 3. RCMP did not pursue the man at the time.

Believing that he might have been heading towards Elko, a heavy police presence was established in the south country area.

She says he was found and arrested without incident at a home in Baynes Lake.

The suspect remains behind bars and is facing numerous charges.

No one was hurt.
