The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League fires up for another weekend as all five teams in the Eddie Mountain Division are set to hit the ice on Friday.
Leading the Eddie Mountain Division, the Kimberley Dynamiters will go head-to-head with the Kootenay Conference's other division leader in Nelson. Battling the Nelson Leafs at 7:00 pm from the Nelson Community Complex, the Dynamiters will look to take down the Neil Murdoch Division leaders. Following Friday's contest, the Dynamiters will play host to the Spokane Braves at 7:00 pm on Saturday back at the Kimberley Civic Centre.
The Columbia Valley Rockies only have one game this weekend, suiting up against the Spokane Braves in Canal Flats on Friday. Looking to ignite a winning streak, the Rockies will hit the ice at Canal Flats Arena at 7:30 pm.
In the Elk Valley, the Fernie Ghostriders get set for a two-game homestand at Fernie Memorial Arena. Looking to chase down the Rockies for second spot in the Eddie Mountain Division, the Ghostriders will look to take down the Creston Valley Thunder Cats and Castlegar Rebels at 7:30 pm Friday and Saturday.
Other teams in action this weekend include the Golden Rockets and Creston Valley Thunder Cats as the Rockets will first host the Castlegar Rebels at Golden Arena on Friday at 7:30 pm before the Thunder Cats and Rockets clash at Creston's Johnny Bucyk Arena at 7:30 pm on Saturday.
