Starting later this month, changes will be made to the traffic system on a popular Invermere road.

The District of Invermere will be running a pilot project this summer to change the traffic configuration in the Athalmer neighbourhood.

They say there are two key components to this.

One encompasses lane change configurations and the installation of a left-hand turning signal on Laurier Street from the bridge on the Columbia River to the bridge on CP Railway.

The other would see another left-hand signal installed on the westbound lanes at the Third Avenue intersection.

Starting on May 25th, 2019, lane changes will be implemented with line painting and signage.

Any questions or concerns can be addressed to the District of Invermere's Chief Administrative Officer Chris Prosser at 250-342-9281.
