Three rings were allegedly stolen from a store in the Tamarack Centre, and RCMP are asking for the public's help in solving the crime.
Police were called to the mall just after 3:00 pm on January 11.
They were advised that an unknown man had been trying on rings in the jewellery store when he reportedly grabbed three of them and ran out the door.
Although RCMP surrounded the mall, they were unable to locate the suspect.
He is described as 6'2" with a thin build and was wearing blue jeans and sunglasses at the time.
The man might have also been wearing a grey and black jacket with geometric shapes, although RCMP says the jacket was later found discarded in the mall.
Anyone with potential information on this incident is asked to contact Cranbrook RCMP at 250-489-3471 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
