City of Kimberley Hosting Consultations on Proposed Financial Plan Monday

Residents of Kimberley can take a look into how local finances will be shaped and give their own feedback.

The City of Kimberley has released the full documents for the proposed 2019-2023 Financial Plan, which you can view online here or in hard copy at City Hall.

The municipality is proposing a property tax increase of 2.22%, which is in line with the Municipal Rate of Inflation. It takes into account the costs incurred from the province's new Employer Health Tax.

The financial plan also includes provisions to improve snow removal services and expand bussing between Kimberley and Cranbrook. More details on the bus expansions here.

Details about general budgetary matters and a breakdown of where your tax dollars go are divulged as well.

More information on the proposed five-year financial plan and an opportunity to provide feedback will happen on Monday, April 15th at 7:00 pm at Council Chambers.

Anyone who cannot attend can send written submissions to info@kimberley.ca

By law, the financial plan must be adopted on or before May 15th.
