Residents of the East Kootenay can give tell the province what they would like to see in next year's budget in Kimberley.

The Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services is visiting 15 communities throughout the province this summer, with only one stop being in the East Kootenay.

Columbia River-Revelstoke MLA Doug Clovechok has confirmed to Summit 107 that it will take place at the Kimberley Hotel on June 11th.

"This is their opportunity, the constituents' opportunity around budgeting, to share their opportunities or their ideas or their concerns or whatever they want, their wishlists, and present them to the committee. That information is all compiled and then at the end of the consultation process, which is mid-June, we'll all get together in July in Victoria to put all this together.

Clovechok is a member of the Committee and says it is a huge privilege to be able to help shape what Budget 2020 could look like.

He adds that he is very happy to see Kimberley be one of the few communities included in this tour and to be just the second stop along the way.

Residents are encouraged to reserve a time to speak to the committee members, as registration opens at 9:00 am on Monday, May 27th. Use this link to register once the time opens.

For those who will not be able to attend in person, you can send in a written, audio, or video submission by Friday, June 28th.
